As second in the evolution of "Class" Mercedes, the Class B as a people carrier which has led style of the German mark: sober finishes, in comfort and with large engines which tend always to be more efficient. The most important changes to occur in visually accessories bodywork, the new front deeply stressing that integrates itself a new grille and bumper greater athleticism. It can be seen as it moves through the body for a new covered mirrors, the sides and door handles particularly in the same color as the body. In the rear, the change is less profound including a different bumper with a higher integration, which can be plastic or a chrome, and with different covers for the lights.
Mechanically, though not increasing the range of six engines available, it increases the efficiency of the same. For the entire diesel, there are two direct injection engines developing 109 HP (B180 CDI), and HP 140 (B200 CDI) with a maximum torque at 300 Nm and combined ranging between 5.2 and 5.6 l/100 km. With respect to gasoline, there are four different options with powers of 95 Cv (B150), HP 116 (B170), HP 136 (B200), and HP 193 (B120 Turbo). Consumption in this case varies between 6.6 and 8.1 l/100 km.
There will be two different versions of the thrusters gasoline. On the one hand the B150 and B170 BlueEFFICIENCY equipped with thrusters above next to Stop & Start ECO system that allows the engine shut down in situations of a prolonged stoppage and turn it on in a very small fraction of time, thereby greatly improving consumption. The other alternative is the B170 NGT, with a modified engine that can use gasoline or natural gas. Consumes 7.3 l/100 km for petrol or 4.9 kg/100 km of natural gas and allows for a comprehensive autonomy over 1,000 km.
