SEAT presents/displays the results of 2007 with an historical benefit
SEAT has just published a communique in which unveils economic performance last year, and could not be better. After years of balance sheets at a loss this year SEAT finally has been able to present great benefits, which amount to 170 million euros after tax. That hardly count in 2007 with the introduction of any new model. What will happen this year when it is put up for sale the new Ibiza?
Investment in R & D in the last financial year is estimated at 504 million euros, representing an increase of over 24% compared to 2006. The company president, Erich Schmitt, was quick to congratulate the employees and executives of the company for having made possible the return to the green numbers a year earlier than expected.
According to data provided by the trade mark itself, sales increased by 0.4%, reaching 431,000 units. The markets with greater sales growth were France (+5.1%), United Kingdom (+5.8%) and especially Poland (+70.6%), while the models most defendants were the Lion and Ibiza.
The president of SEAT has confirmed the expectations of the brand launched a compact model (Ibiza) for this year and a saloon average (Toledo) for the next. It also has also unveiled its growth plans, setting a goal of selling more than 800,000 units per year for the next decade
